Deb is a fully qualified HR Consultant with hands-on experience of large-scale recruitment, managing teams and training within private and public sectors along with acting as HR lead Trustee for a number of charities, including sitting on the Board of Management for Hafan Cymru.
Making a difference to the lives of people, especially in the workplace, sits at the heart of what inspires her and includes writing and implementing Equality Schemes, mentoring business undergraduates and young entrepreneurs along with delivering training/coaching sessions for managers so that they feel confident and competent to deal with the day-to-day HR issues.
She loves working with start-up businesses ensuring that they recruit the best staff and that their contracts of employment, staff handbooks and workplace policies are all in place from day one.
Mother of twin boys and married to a retired fire officer, she says that ‘fighting fires’ aka managing disciplinaries, grievances, redundancies and having other awkward conversations around poor attendance, performance and conduct have become second nature!
